About the event
Huascar Medina's "What Participants Should Expect from Words Save Lives:"
"They should expect joy. They should expect light. They should expect warmth. They should expect a feeling of being seen, of being heard at these events. This is for everyone. You know, suicide directly or indirectly affects a lot of people and we don't talk about it enough. Communication is key. We want to reach people before they get to that threshold to ensure that they're living a life that they're glad to live and art is one of those mediums that can assist with that process."
Reaction from 2022 audience member and participant:
“[The event] made you realize that if you are going through something, that you’re not alone and there’s always support from your community or family that’s available.”
